Today I am looking back on our first trip to Germany to experience Oktoberfest. We didn’t go to the “Main” event in Munich. We have a friend in Fulda, a small city just outside of Frankfurt, so we were lucky enough to experience a traditional German beerfest with the locals.
Having attended an annual beerfest hosted in South Africa for many years,Oktoberfest in Germany was at the top of the bucket list. And wow did it live up to expectations! German people know how to throw a party! While Munich is still on our radar, experiencing a traditional Oktoberfest with the locals was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
We also had a bit of time to experience Fulda. A lesser known but beautiful city of Germany that lies on the Fulda River, between the Rhön and Vogelsberg mountains. Fulda is a quaint little town full of unspoken beauty and when in Germany it’s definitely worth making a trip here.
Here are some of my highlights from our short but worthwhile trip to Germany ♥
1. Enjoying our first pint at Oktoberfest
2. As the day progressed
